Getting "IT"...in the Adult Entertainment Industry.

Happy Holidays People!

This blog idea came to me this week after speaking with a few customers and long time friends. It also comes as a result of what I see as a deteriorating adult entertainment industry, more specifically, as it applies to minority own/ran “businesses”. I put a quote on “businesses” to signify that I’m talking about authentic/legally structured & ran minority entities….AND NOT..those who “pretend” or profess to be a legitimate business. I’m not going to go into that, because many of you KNOW exactly what types of fake or phoney people I’m talking about. And that my friends, is yet another blog topic. No, what I’m talking about here today is “real” minority adult businesses that year in & year out tend to blame the economy, larger non-minority owned businesses, & even plain bad luck as reasons they are not successful in their own business.

For example, all year long I work at producing the BEST in adult entertainment…period! In my company that consists of adult novelties, adult parties/cabarets, mobile digital photography services, adult websites, and more! Basically, full circle adult entertainment. I currently produce Kings Big 10 adult websites of which features 3 of the most hard working, and impact-full adult talents in the industry. Carmyell of http://clubcarmyell.com , SaXXX of http://saxxjust4u.com & male talent extraordinaire Rock The Icon, of http://rocktheicon.com . All three work hard all year round to give their perspective fan following, their very best! Being on the inside, I see how hard they work, and know that this time of year, is when it all should pay off! I’m talking about the time that I pull all 3 together & place them on the grandest stage at the biggest event of the year….The 2012 AVN Expo in Las Vegas Nevada.

Each year, 25,000 plus people swarm to Las Vegas for a chance to meet their favorite porn-stars in person. To see them live, take photos, and even purchase signature memorabilia,to a true fan, is a magnificent treat to say the least. In many cases, lifelong fantasies are fulfilled at this event. Which is why I'm happy to say, this is the 1st time Kings will be exhibiting at the Expo. In the past, my newly formed team & I have traveled together & separately to meet fans, & promote our “individual” brands. However, this year, as I mentioned already, will be the first time we will do this officially as a unit under Kings Adult Ent. Bringing Carmyell, Rock & SaXXX together came from my on going pledge to have something for “everyone”. Each of the 3 have amassed a fan base different from the other. To bring them together,is definitely a wonderful merger that will benefit all involved…especially the fans!

Now, that intro was to explain very briefly & in much edited form the gist of what I’m trying to get across to you. The focus of customer services and/or giving the people what they want is how you maintain, and continue to be successful over a long period of time…and that’s in ANY INDUSTRY! I focus specifically on giving the consumer exactly what they want from adult entertainment, and it pays off each and every year! This year, the people asked to see Kings & the Big 10 adult entertainers in Las Vegas, together! And that’s exactly whats gonna happen. When I announced this event, there were negative echoes of confused voices throughout other minority “businesses” & those pretending to be such.

These misguided individuals spoke of things such as a racist atmosphere at the annual AVN conventions. They continued by saying that the Avn Expo isn’t made for minorities or people of color. Or in my best Kanye West impersonation, “AVN Doesn’t Like Black People”. Blacks never win at the AVN Awards, the system is set up to be…YADA,YADA,YADA ….BULLSHIT! First & foremost, your focus should always be on keeping the consumer happy. And in this industry that means giving them quality adult entertainment. For Kings, part of that means, bringing the awesome talents of Carmyell, Rock, and SaXXX to a venue for their fans to meet in the flesh & allow interactions that are known to last a life time! Next, why wouldn’t a company want their brand in front of 25,000 plus, “targeted” potential customers? That's customers who "want to buy" adult products & services! Each year that I’ve attended, I’ve not only developed new leads but, experienced a 30% increase in sales as a direct result of attending. My most proud example of this,is of a new customer I developed from my attendance to the 2011 AVN Expo., a customer that was from China. Now to some of you, that may not seem so great. But, here’s what makes it so extraordinary. Most of the adult toys/novelty products I sell are manufactured in China.(Like, what isnt, right!) My new customer chose to become a customer of Kings Adult Ent even though they knew they could purchase the very same product that I was offering in their own country! This still may not make sense to some of you, but it goes back to "customer service". One, from our initial interaction with each other at the Expo, a instant bond was formed. I was told that from my courteous, humble attitude alone, that I now had a new customer. On top of that, my prices, expedited shipping policies, and free gifts with every order, totally set me apart from most of the other options out there.

Here’s another question to the person why cry-out about injustices with the AVN Award nominations. What have YOU done to produce award winning adult works/movies/websites? Most of the people I see complaining have produced piss poor work or absolutely nothing at all! They feel vindicated in their arguments of racist treatment by AVN when they receive a nomination from say, Urban X Awards. So I ask, how much weight are you putting on that nomination, wherever it originates from? Think about this, producing a quality adult video/work means nothing if your company brand is unknown! (maybe attending more trade shows to promote it & the hard working adult talent can improve on that?) Also, what good is a great dvd, if no one knows about it. Again, piss poor distribution tactics, minimal marketing, & a horrible web-presence kills any chance of success for your work! (you know who you are). And last, what “value” are you placing on that AVN/Urban X nomination? If your underlying reason for producing a work is not entertaining the consumer, why the fuck are you wasting your time? If your work ethic is strong, and you focus on making the work a most desired piece,by presenting the consumer with decent adult performers, maybe a story line, & a all around well produced product…your product will speak for itself. And with that comes the nominations, the accolades, and yes..PROFITS! All this only comes from a job well done.

With that said…

Here are 3 reasons why you should be attending the 2012 AVN Expo if you’re a business:

1.Your getting 2 shows for the price of 1!-If your like me & sale adult toys/novelties,your gonna be able to benefit from twice as much info, products & services all in one show!

2.Over 25,000 people attending- Nuff said.

3.Awesome Seminars-you never know it ALL. Get continuous info/updates on industry changes that help your bottom line!

Here are 3 reasons why you should be attending the 2012 AVN Expo if you’re a consumer:

1.Company's like Kings Adult Ent (That’s us!), will be on hand with your favorite stars, company products, info, and cool giveaways & prizes! And it’s all for YOU!

2. Las Vegas- Las Vegas is & probably always will be the ULTIMATE in cities that cater to the mature adult!

3. You deserve a break today.(wait a minute that’s McDonald's)

With this blog topic, I could go on & on, but I honestly don’t have time. I’m Pres/CEO, accountant, marketing/promotions, web-design, photo/videographer, editor, novelty wholesale/retail sales rep, party promoter, and more.(yes, I have thirteen plus jobs, but, no I’m not Jamaican mon). My point is, if you want it, YOU CAN HAVE IT. You just have to know exactly what “IT” means to you…

Thanks for checking out my blog! I you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here!
